Elinchrom Rotalux Deep Octabox 100 cm with its deep octa-shaped design provides a focused, soft light image. Perfect for portraits etc. as the softbox gives a round reflex in the eyes and with its deep design gives great control over the light flow. Rotalux Deep Octa is very popular with photographers because the light character can be changed quickly and easily, from soft to hard by removing the outer and, sometimes, the inner diffusion cloth when shooting. If both cloths are removed, a deflector is often mounted in the softbox.
Super compact design
The Deep Octa 70 cm is very popular for on-location photography due to its compact size and light weight. The softbox is easy to handle on the lighting boom, especially in combination with the Elinchrom ELB and its light lamp heads.
Great variation of the light picture
With both diffuser screens mounted, the Deep Octa 70 cm provides a soft light that, thanks to the deep design, is easy to control and provides a high light output.
By removing the outer diffuser cloth, a slightly crisper light with a neat transition to shadow is obtained. If both screens are removed, the light is directed and relatively hard, a bit like the light from a Beauty Dish. Combine with deflector and the hotspot from the flash tube is removed.
Elinchrom Rotalux
Elinchrom's Rotalux system is probably the most copied softbox in the world due to its simple and smart construction. But it is easy to copy design but not to copy quality, which makes Elinchrom Rotalux in a class of its own.
Extremely even light image
Just like all Elinchrom light tools, the geometry of the Rotalux softboxes is precisely adapted to the focal length and light pattern of all Elinchrom lamp heads. These properties together with double diffusion cloths provide the exceptionally even light that Elinchrom softboxes are known for.
Additional accessories
Both outer and inner diffusion fabric are included as standard.
As an option, there is a recessed outer diffusion cloth (EL-26770) which provides increased control over the light flow, perfect when e.g. you want to avoid the light from the softbox hitting the background or when you want to highlight details in the image.
Thanks to the centrally located umbrella bracket on the Elinchrom, Rotalux softboxes can be combined with deflectors (EL-26310). The different materials in the deflector set create different light characteristics and can be used in combination with diffusion cloths or, if a harder light is desired, in a softbox without diffusion cloths
