With its octa-shaped design, the Rotalux Octa 175 softbox provides a very large, soft light image. Perfect for portraits, group photos, product photos, etc. as the softbox gives a round reflex in reflective surfaces and spreads the light evenly over a large surface. Rotalux Octa is very popular with photographers because the light character can be changed quickly and easily, from soft to hard by removing the outer and, sometimes, the inner diffusion cloth when shooting. If both cloths are removed, a deflector is often mounted in the softbox.

Elinchrom Rotalux

Elinchrom's Rotalux system is probably the most copied softbox in the world due to its simple and clever design. It is easy to imitate design but all the more difficult to copy quality, which places Elinchrom Rotalux in a class of its own.

Extremely even light image

Just like all Elinchrom lighting tools, the geometry of the Rotalux softboxes is precisely adapted to the focal length and light pattern of all Elinchrom studio flashes. These properties together with double diffusion cloths provide the exceptionally even light that Elinchrom softboxes are known for.

Great possibilities to vary the light character

Both outer and inner diffusion fabric are included as standard. Just by removing one or two diffusion cloths, the character of the light changes.

The deflector set

Thanks to the centrally located umbrella bracket on the Elinchrom, Rotalux softboxes can be combined with Deflectors. The different materials in the deflector set create different light characteristics and can be used in combination with diffusion cloths or, if a harder light is desired, in a softbox without diffusion cloths.

Hooded Diffuser

With recessed outer diffusion fabric, control over the light flow is increased by the black edges shielding the light spread and providing a faster transition to shadow. Perfect when e.g. you want to avoid the light from the softbox hitting the background.

Rotagrid Raster

By supplementing the softbox with Rotagrid grids, the light flow can be controlled with high precision while maintaining the softbox's soft light image. A very popular accessory among portrait photographers who want to accentuate parts of the subject and at the same time tone down less important parts of the image.
